Call for Presentations
Deadline: January 27, 2006

The 2006 Asia Pacific Applied Reliability Symposium will be held September 13 - 14, 2006 in Kuala Lumpur. You are invited to submit presentation proposals that address the Symposium theme:

"Sharing applications, success stories and lessons learned in reliability and maintainability engineering."

Presentations will be accepted on the basis of the proposal. Because of the applied nature of the Symposium, presenters are asked to submit materials in presentation format only (i.e. PowerPoint - see Template). An accompanying paper is not required. 50 minutes have been allocated to each presentation with 5 minutes of questions for a total of 55 minutes per session.

Presenters receive complimentary registration for the event. There is no additional compensation.

Submission Guidelines:
Presentation proposals must be submitted electronically in either Microsoft Word or PDF file format using the form provided. Please submit all proposals via e-mail to PresentAsia@ARSymposium.org.

Proposals must include:

  • Title
  • "Print-ready" description for brochure/Web site.
  • Detailed outline, including introduction, major points to be covered and conclusion
  • "Business case" for the presentation
  • Key words
  • Contact information for a single designated presenter

The Symposium organizers may approach proposal writers to request changes in their proposals to better fit Symposium needs. 

Evaluation Criteria:
The criteria by which proposals will be assessed are given below in order to assist you in the development of your proposal. 

  • Clarity and coherence of proposal.
  • Relevance to the conference theme.
  • Appeal to a varied audience of practicing reliability/maintainability engineers.
  • Relevance and usefulness to participants.
  • Potential to stimulate active engagement of participants.
  • Contribution to scholarship and/or new or innovative practice in reliability/maintainability engineering.

After the completion of the proposal review period, an ARS representative will contact you regarding the status of your proposal.
